Obituary of Charles Paul Post, Jr.

Charles Paul Post, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in Irmo, SC. A graveside service will be held 2:30 pm Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Reverend Terry Cagle, officiating.

Mr. Post was born in Johnstown, PA to Charles Paul Post, Sr., and Elizabeth Mary Post on September 8, 1937. He married his first wife, Barbara, on November 14, 1965. He married his second wife, Marcia Post, on December 29, 1981. After he moved to SC, he was employed with Horseman Doll until the late 1970’s. He was also employed with Rosewood Furniture, Rosewood East, Inc., and Colony House. He served as a member of SC Air National Guard for 29 years. Charles was a lifetime bowler who received recognition for his accomplishments. He was a member of Edwards Memorial ARP Church in Cayce and later St. Andrews Baptist Church in Columbia.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Marcia; his brother, Robert Post; sister, Dorothy Post; and stepdaughter, Mary Thompson (Michael). He is survived by daughter, Alissa “Lisa” Post Best; son, John Paul Post (Alison); stepchildren, Lisa Prince (Cliff), and Jay Hayes (Tonya); brothers, Edwin Post and David Post; sisters, Carol Deese, and Mary Varnadore; grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth Best (Samuel Henegar), Connor Allen Best, Jonathan Post, Shiloh Boulden (Malik), and Christian Hall; step grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Bryson Hayes (Kathryn) and Garret Hayes; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Colt Henegar and Oliver Quinn Boulden.

A dedicated hardworking son, husband, father, grandfather, friend he will always be remembered as being a talented, gentle, and kind. The family would like to thank Harbison Shores Senior Living Facility for the care provided during his final years and to Greenlawn Memorial Park for their assistance in the memorial arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Baptist Church.
