Obituary of Stephen Sanders Hornsby, Jr.

After a short battle with cancer, Steve passed peacefully at home on November 30, 2021. A man of few words, he was known and loved by many. He was a loyal son, brother, daddy and Papa. He was a graduate of Cardinal Newman High School and worked his entire life in the building and roofing supply industry. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and share fun and laughter with his joking spirit.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen S. Hornsby, Sr. and Jessie McBride Hornsby. He is survived by his daughters, Hope Hornsby Cole (Charles), and Faith Hornsby; grandchildren, Morgan Cole, and Eli Cole; his sisters, Lurlyn Tucker, Jennifer Hornsby, and Donnell Boyd; as well as multiple nieces, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will take place Sunday, December 5, 2021 from 4:00-6:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.
