Obituary of Kara Imogene Morris

Kara Imogene Morris passed away on November 13, 2021. Born September 13, 1933 in Pelzer, SC to Adolphus and Ina Shubert, she was raised in a loving family. After graduating high school, she married Sgt. Joe Fred Morris and traveled the world with him throughout his military career. On this adventure, three children were born, and her own family forged.

A full-time mother until her children grew up, Kara embarked on a second career as a clothing consultant. She loved making people beautiful with just the right clothes, and her talents were well-known.

Kara and Joe shared 64 years of marriage, and enjoyed riding their motorcycle into their 80s.

She was a member of Shandon Baptist Church and the Galaxy HOA. She loved decorating and gardening, and will always be remembered for her stunning smile, sense of humor, and owning every room she ever walked into.

Kara is survived by her sister, Carolyn Handschuh; daughter, Kara Deeanna Rowland; son, Joseph Morris; grandchildren, Kindrid Morris Parker, Kara Alyse Brayboy, Ashley Michelle Goff, Brian Chance Goff, Brandon Morris, and Cameron Morris; a new generation of great-grandchildren, including her most recent great-granddaughter, her “mini-me”, Beatrix Gayle Parker.
