Obituary of James "Puddin" Darling

James “Puddin” Darling III passed away on November 8, 2021. He was born on November 29, 1971 to James and Frances Darling Jr. in Columbia, SC.

James, better known as “Puddin” to his friends and family, was a hardworking and dedicated man. He loved working on cars. He worked at Bender Mender for 21 years, where he formed close friendships that would last the rest of his life. It is here that he found his love of racing drag cars with his friends. James was also a loving husband, dad, Papa, and brother. James will be deeply missed by his family and all of those that knew him.

James is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Darlene Cunningham. James is survived by his wife of 21 years, Darlene Darling; his sister, Deborah Jackson; his children, Devin Duval, Hailey Darling, Ciera Darling, and Seth Darling; and his grandchildren, Riley, Jordan, Isaac, and Levi Duval.

A funeral service for James “Puddin” Darling will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Friday November 12, 2021 at 7:30pm. Visitation will begin at 6:30pm prior to the service.
