Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Dressler Wood
Elizabeth Anne Dressler Wood, 78, of Lexington, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 3, 2021. Anne was born in Suffolk, VA to the late Lee and Evelyn (Beale) Dressler.
She grew up in Roanoke, VA and met the love of her life, Darrell Payne Wood. She was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, and Proverbs 31 woman who completed her husband in their 54 years of marriage. Anne shared her gentle wisdom, provided for her household, and selflessly demonstrated her gift of hospitality to family, friends, and strangers. Her life verses were Proverbs 3:5-6.
Anne was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Darrell. She is survived by her children, Annette Faber (Steve) of Greenville, SC, Donna Coombs (Scott) of Cayce, SC, Teri Garard (Dan) of Augusta, GA, Darrell Wood (Bethany) of Columbia, SC, Amanda Cropsey (Matt) of Lexington, SC, Rachel (Phil) Rogers of Milledgeville, GA, and Rebekah Wood of Lexington, SC; sister, Dottie Thomas of Roanoke, VA; and brother, Ralph Dressler (Melinda) of Birmingham, AL; sister-in-law, Beth Carter (Larry) of Daleville, VA; brother-in-law, Mike Wood (Paula) of Chattanooga, TN; 20 grandchildren: Joseph, Daniel, Eric, Stephanie, Will, Ethan, Jayson, Clay, Matthew, Reecie, Maggie, Anna, Darrell, Kaylee, Noah, Ella, Caroline, Greyson, Lucie, and Chloe; and 2 great-grandchildren: Carson and Millie. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1:30-4:30pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. A celebration of life service will take place on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 1:00pm at Grace Baptist Church of West Columbia, with Anne’s son-in-law, Pastor Phil Rogers, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Serenity Gardens, 6621 Windwan Drive, Columbia, SC.
