Obituary of Clarence R. Rowan

Clarence Rowan passed away October 29, 2021 in Columbia, SC. He was born to T.R. and Mary Rowan on January 11, 1936 in Hagerstown, MD.

Clarence served his country proudly, undertaking 3 tours of duty in Vietnam and retiring from the U.S. Army with the rank of Command Sgt. Major. Clarence loved his family dearly and will be deeply missed by them.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 65 years, June Rowan. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Killius; his grandchildren, Jeri, Sarah, and Emil; and his great-grandchildren, Dylan, Ivy, Nevaeh, Cowboy, Jayda, Noah, and Princeton; and his great great-grandson, Braxton.

A service for Clarence Rowan will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Rd., Columbia, SC, on Monday, November 8, 2021 at 12:00pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00am before the service. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd. Columbia, SC, at 2:00pm.
