Jacob Eadie

Obituary of Jacob Franklin Eadie

Jacob Franklin “Cookie” Eadie, 67, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at his home in West Columbia, South Carolina.  He was born August 15th, 1954 to the late David Watson Eadie and Frances Ginn of Gifford, South Carolina.

Jacob was preceded in death by his wife, Reba Skinner Eadie, son Jesse Johnson, and siblings Margaret “Gail” Saunders, Caroll Eadie, Larry Eadie, and David “Kelly” Eadie.  He is survived by his mother Frances, sons Jacob Johnson, Joshua Eadie, and Joseph Eadie and siblings Sandra Hickman, Harold Eadie, Janet Ginn, Jimmy Ginn, and Milton Ginn.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

Jacob was a free spirit who loved to ramble.  He was the proud holder of multiple warrants in Nevada, Texas, and probably New York.  He was an expert blackwater angler and was known to frequent his favorite watering holes with his old Spanish Guild for the sole purpose of making memories and having good times with his longtime friend and backup bass player, Red Kissell.  He will be sorely missed by most, and in his own words, “to hell with the rest”.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16th from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at the City of Hope Worship Center in West Columbia.  In lieu of sending flowers, his (known) children ask that you take the time to hug someone you love because tomorrow is never certain.
