Lisa Ardis

Obituary of Lisa Ann Ardis

Lisa Ann Ardis, 54, of Lexington, died on Monday, September 20, 2021, at home surrounded by her family and her beloved, Ken, with whom she shared the last twenty years of her life.

Lisa graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1983 and studied Business at Coastal Carolina. Lisa was employed as the executive assistant to the president of Road-1 for over twenty years, although she would argue her duties covered far more (every single process except turning wrenches). She was a respected defender of the rejected, dejected, and those in need of hug...always.

The world felt suddenly dim and a lot less sparkly this past Monday afternoon. For those of us that lived in her light, we were warmed by true love, infinite joy, and real hope. She brought it every day. Selfless by nature, ruthless protector of those she loved, brilliant and well studied, always bringing her A game, regardless of the task. She loved watching her children play baseball and softbalI, her grandson on the diamond and her getaways to the beach. Lazy afternoons floating in her pool enjoying her own island named Paw-Par. She loved all things Alabama, especially those fall Saturdays when "The Tide rolled in." Lisa wanted her friends and family with her and that's when she was the most sparkly.

She is survived by her partner, Kenneth Pawlowski, and her three children and six grandchildren: Kristin Ardis (Mike Knudsen) and grandson, Rylan Knudsen; Scott Chaz Ardis (Brooke) and grandchildren, Payton, Braylee, Charlee, Raegan; and Dalton Ardis (Jordanne) and grandson, Rutledge. She is also survived by sisters, Janet Rhodes and Bobbie Adams. Lisa was predeceased by her mother and father, MSGT Fernie Trammell and Daisy Gordon Trammell.

The  family is grateful for the tireless caregivers at SCOA, especially Dr. James A. Williams, and nurses Brandi, Shelly, Kathy, Mary, and Wendy.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.

The family will receive friends at 6:00pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00pm Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
