Thomas Suttles

Obituary of Thomas Anthony "Tony" Suttles

Thomas Anthony “Tony” Suttles passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021. He was the son of the late Thomas A. Suttles and Ann Duarte.

Tony is survived by his sweetheart, DeAnna Weed, who he affectionately referred to as “Dee”, and numerous family members and loved ones. He loved Deanna’s children,  Michael Weed (Ariel), and Sarah Weed Waters (Larry), as if they were his own. His greatest joy and love was being a “Papa” to Kendall Floyd, Alyssa “LeLe” Floyd,  Conner Weed, Cameron Weed, and Harper Adkins.

Born on the 4th of July in Columbia, SC, Tony was a Patriot from his very first day until his last. Tony played football at the University of Georgia before joining the US Marines to proudly serve his country. Despite his time in Athens, he grew to become a loyal Gamecock fan! He was an avid outdoorsman. Every year he looked forward to spending the fall hunting and enjoying nature. Even with his dislike of beach sand, he could spend hours dropping a line into the ocean, especially at his favorite fishing spot on the Garden City Pier. Tony also enjoyed watching NASCAR races on Sundays and spending time with his three dogs, Dixie, Georgia and Evie.

To those that knew and loved Tony, he will be remembered for his hard work ethic as a handyman, his generous and caring heart, and his adventurous spirit. Tony always had a big smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh. He rarely met a stranger that he couldn’t talk with about sports, hunting, or the occasional politics. His spontaneous weekend road trips with DeAnna was a highlight of their time together. Most of all, his dedication and presence to his family and friends will be missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lexington Medical Center for the compassionate and excellent care. During these challenging times, they attended to Tony with the utmost professionalism, provided high quality medical care, and showed empathy to his family during his time under their care.
