Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Devaux

Anthony “Tony” DeVaux, 74, passed into heaven on Saturday, July 16, 2021. Born on October 1, 1946, he was the son of the late Mary V. Fite and Wallace DeVaux.

Anthony served in the US Army as 1st Sergeant and an Army Ranger. After retiring from service, he worked with the Cayce Police Department for 8 years, before becoming Head of Security at US Foods.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and collecting coins. He loved us all very much. He had many friends and relatives who loved him and miss him dearly.

Anthony is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cynthia Lee Ferguson DeVaux; daughters, Kimberly J. DeVaux, Corrine Hash, Heather DeVaux, and Andrea Scholderberg; son, Martin H. Truong; step-daughters, Rayanna Padgett and Shannon Buckland; grandchildren, Madalyn Padgett, Collin Padgett, Davis Truong, Allison DeVaux-Rawls, Megan DeVaux-Rawls, Skyler Devaux-Rawls and Rachel Devaux-Rawls; and mother-in-law, Joan Ferguson.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Juanita R. Abbott; grandparents, Addy Taylor and William Fiet; and father-in-law, Edward Ferguson.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 6:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Visitation will take place between 4:00-6:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
