Obituary of Linda R. "Meg" Blanton

Linda R. “Meg” Blanton, 69, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021. Born on December 16, 1951 in Darlington, SC, she was the daughter of Heyward A. Reed and Betty J. Jenkins.

Meg retired from Fort Jackson as a budget analyst after 30 years of service. She also worked as a church secretary, with the children’s program, and anything else that was needed at her church. Meg was a loving wife, and according to her daughter, Brandy, the best mom and grandmom ever! She will be missed by all.

Meg is survived by her husband, Euel D. Blanton II; daughter, Brandy L. Babberl (Kirk); sons, Michael J. Hentz (Carrie) & George W. Heaton (Sarah); stepsons, Euel D. Blanton III (Cassie) & Rick Miller; sister, Tonya Reed; grandchildren: Garrett, Haley, Ivy, Skyler, Elliott, Brianna, Davey & Shelly; and great-grandchildren, Waylon & Carly.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021, 4:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC, with burial to follow at Gibson Cemetery, 3111 Delree Road, West Columbia, SC. Visitation will take place between 3:00-3:45pm at the funeral home.
