Obituary of Jarryd Dawson
Mr. Jarryd Dawson departed this life on July 8, 2021. He was the son of John R. Dawson. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Nov 2, 1987.
He graduated from Lower Richland High School. He joined the United States Army in 2008 and achieved the rank of Specialist. He honorably served in the Iraq war. For his service he earned an army achievement medal, Global War on Terrorism service medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, and the Overseas service ribbon. Jarryd’s experience in the Army played a very important role in his life. He would always point out how it taught him the importance of discipline, teamwork, and investing in a cause larger than himself. These are values that he carried with him even after his exit from the military.
He loved his son Jarryd more than life itself and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his second son Jaxon. He will be missed immensely.
He is survived by his wife Latesha Dawson of Columbia, SC, His sons Jarryd and Jaxon Dawson of Columbia, SC; His Aunt Gloria E. Mcwilson and Uncle David Mcwilson, Jr of Conyers, Aunt Deborah Dawson of Columbia,S.C., Cousins, David Mcwilson III (Janna), Eric Mcwilson, Anthony Mcwilson, One sister-in-law, Ms. Janay Reed, Father-in-law, Johnny Reed, Mother-in-law, Deborah Reed; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arrangements will be announced by Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
