William Satterwhite

Obituary of William David Satterwhite

William David Satterwhite, beloved son of John and Willette Satterwhite, passed away on Tuesday July 6th. David is survived by his mother, sister, Laura S. Hodge (Jamie) of Spartanburg, brother, Mark Satterwhite (Ann) of Columbia. Nieces, Elizabeth S. Johnson (Parker) of Greenville, Padget Satterwhite of Washington, DC.  Nephews, Camden Hodge (Christine) of Greenville and Foster Hodge of Spartanburg.

David graduated from Irmo High School in 1974 and then attended the University of South Carolina.

David was a kind soul and his continual smile garnered him the nickname “Smiley” in his High School days. Although David faced his share of challenges, over his life, he was always there for family and friends. After David’s Father died in March of last year, he stepped up to assist his mother in any way he could. Shuttling his mom around in his car, affectionately known as the Blue Dragon and helping around the house, David was there to serve and bring joy to all in his family.

A lover of all things British and an ABC sports fan…Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox and Clemson Tigers, David found joy in so many ways.
