Obituary of Lung Thi Nguyen

Lung Thi Nguyen (Buddhist linage name: Dieu Huong), 88, of Columbia, SC, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021. She was born January 6, 1933 in Hai Phong, N. Vietnam to Trinh Van Nguyen and Xuan Thi Nguyen.

She arrived in America as a war refugee in June 1975 and became a proud US citizen in November 1984.

She worked for many years with Marriott in Columbia.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Lan Dinh Nguyen; and four of her six children: Minh Nguyen (Tocan), Kim Thu Nguyen (Tinh, predeceased), Thang Nguyen (Lien) and Van Nguyen (Michelle).

She was preceded in death by two sons, Tue Nguyen (AiThu) and Vu Nguyen (Melisa); a grandson, Thomas Nguyen; and her sister, Minh T. Nguyen.

She was a loving grandmother to ten grandsons, four granddaughters and great grandmother to 12 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC.
