Obituary of Faye T. Smith

Faye T. Smith, 94, of Columbia, SC, passed away June 22, 2021. She was born on December 22, 1926 in Andalusia, AL.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Dora M. Cole; stepfather, Ruby P. Cole; husband of 56 years, Edward E. Smith, Sr.; brother, Duane Morris; and grandson, Edward E. Smith III. Survivors include daughter, Rebecca Lynne Faulk (George); son, Edward E. Smith, Jr. (Terry); grandchildren, Caroline Hairston Watson and Sarah Smith Hairston-Berkley (Scott); great-grandchildren: Rebecca Caroline Watson, Sarah Elizabeth Watson, Marley Berkley, Kaene Berkley and Wrigley Cole Berkley.  

Faye was affectionately known as "Nana" by her family. She was an active member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, having served in many capacities, such as a teacher and scout leader. Faye also served as a volunteer at Lexington Medical Center for 44 years.

Services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
