Obituary of Kevin Culbreath

Kevin Culbreath was born on November 19, 1979 and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 18, 2021. He was the son of Jimmy and Donna Culbreath. He attended local elementary and middle schools, graduated from Lexington High School in 1998, and earned a degree from Midlands Technical College.

 

Kevin was a lover of anything outdoors and he especially enjoyed fishing. He played Dixie youth baseball and recreational soccer for much of his youth. He was a devoted USC fan. He was generous, kind hearted and never met a stranger. He made friends for life.

 

Kevin was a US Navy veteran who proudly served his country for 4 ½ years on the USS McCampbell during the Gulf War.

 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Stacy, and daughter, Lena; his brother, J. Stacy (Genny); niece, Maddie; nephew,  Collins Culbreath; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

 

A celebration of his life will be held at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30am on Monday, June 28, 2021 with a brief service directly following. A private internment will be held at Fort Jackson National Cemetery on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to an educational fund in Lena Culbreath's name through South State Bank, ATTN: Katie Thorton, P.O. Box 1030, Columbia, SC 29202 or to Folds of Honor, Palmetto State Chapter, 1275 Thornblade Blvd, Greer, SC 29650.
