Obituary of Simon Mims, Jr.

Simon Mims Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 8, 2021. Simon was born to Simon Mims Sr. and Ollie Cooper Cameron on Feb. 5, 1941 in Columbia, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Simon is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Donna Younginer Mims; his children, David Patrick Mims (Myra) and Ronald Mims (Melissa); his step-children, William Boulware (Denise), Jennifer Morrison (Chris), Sam Boulware (Myra), James Boulware (Terra), and Tammy Carter (James); his 5 Grandchildren; and 8 Great Grandchildren.

Simon was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce, SC. He loved playing guitar and making music. He also loved fishing, camping, and spending time in the outdoors as well as his hobby of relic hunting with his metal detector. Simon was a true patriot as he proudly served in the United States Navy.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church in Cayce on Friday June 11, 2021 at 12 pm. Visitation will begin at the Church at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Disabled Veterans Fund at:
