Obituary of Robert "Bob" C. Cook

On Friday, May 21, 2021, Robert (Bob) C. Cook, loving husband and father of 6 children, passed away at the age of 72. 

Bob grew up in Binghamton, NY.  He graduated from UofSC and Webster University.  He moved to Columbia, SC, in 1973 and worked in healthcare for over 40 years.  One of his great loves was being a SC State Constable.  He was also a member of the SC Emergency Preparedness Team.

Bob was predeceased by his father, Robert M. Cook, and his mother, Katherine Cook, who we know greeted him with open arms in Heaven.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara, daughters Leann, Katherine (Glenn), Julianna and Haley, sons Rob (Michelle) and Alex as well as grandchildren Joey, Lindsay (Orlando), Jenny (Sierra), Robbie, Taya, Gabriel, and Alexandria and great-grandchildren Ariana and Braelynn. 

Due to ongoing restrictions related to COVID 19, the family will not be holding a service at this time.  He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends, as well as his beloved pup, Zeus.

God saw him getting tired,
    and a cure was not to be
So He put His arms around him
    and whispered “Come to Me.”
With tearful eyes
    we watched him suffer, and
    saw him slowly fade away.
Although we loved hi dearly,
    we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
    hard working hands put to rest,
God broke our hearts
    to prove to us,
        He only takes the best.
