Obituary of Hannah Ruth Folkers

Hannah Ruth Folkers of Columbia, SC, died suddenly Tuesday, May 4, 2021. She would have been 24 years old on May 24, 2021.

Hannah is the daughter of Phillip Keith Folkers and Rebecca Suzanne Roberts. Hannah was born May 24, 1997 in Columbia, SC. Our lives are diminished by her absence; had such joy and purpose with her presence.

As a child, she loved stories by J R R Tolkien, C S Lewis, and Dr. Seuss. She loved camping, cycling, running and horsebackriding. She had worked at Richland Library in the Main Children’s Room for several years, and most recently worked at Zaxby’s on Garners Ferry Road. She was so fond of Jay and her Zaxby’s co-workers.

We, her parents, thank Dr. Sharada Pai, Dr. Carol Heebner, Dr. Polly Paton and Dr. Laura Jackson for their attention to Hannah throughout her brief life on earth.

Her burial will be private at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn is assisting the family.

Memorials in Hannah’s name may be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church Preschool and Kindergarten, and to Richland Library.
