Beulah Taylor

Obituary of Beulah Phillips Taylor

Beulah Phillips Taylor, 91, went to her eternal home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2021, after a short stay at Lexington Community Hospice House.

Born in Gastonia, NC on June 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late William Pruitt and Grace Elsie Dora Russell Dean. She retired from AT&T, with 22 years of dedicated service. Beulah was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the Silver Saints Choir under the direction of Darlene Cox. She dearly loved her family and her greatest joy in life came from spending time with them, cooking and caring for them. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who instilled the love of family to all she met.

Beulah is survived by her daughters, Annette Faulkenberry (Jimmy) and Janet Whisennant (Ray); sons, Roy Phillips, Jr. (Pam) and Randy Phillips (Melinda); step-daughter, Pat Johnson (David); grandchildren: Jeff Whisennant, Jeremy Whisennant, Anna Grace Perry, Erin Siciliano, David Faulkenberry, Lauren Phillips, Stephen Phillips, Kathryn Tripp, Jonathan Phillips, Natalie Becknell, Chris Johnson and Brian Johnson; fifteen great grandchildren; brother, Ray Dean and many extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James Roy Phillips, Sr.; husband, William Paul Taylor of 32 years; sister, Doris Dean Rogers; and stepson, William Paul Taylor, Jr.

Over the past year, her caregiver, Stephanie Green, brought such joy to her life. They sang hymns, read scripture and prayed together every morning.
