Obituary of Thomas F. Trombley

Thomas F. Trombley, of Pine Plain Road, Gaston, SC, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021, with his wife by his side.
 
Thomas was born on September 25th, 1948 in Ticonderoga, NY, the son of the late Wilfred and Shirley (Tilley) Trombley. He graduated from Harrisville High School, Harrisville, NY. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force. During his time in the military, he served one tour of duty in Vietnam. Thomas then went on to work as a truck driver for 40 years. For 25 years, he was a Teamster member for Local 687 of Watertown, NY and Local 509 of Cayce, SC. Thomas was employed by Leaseway Motorcar, LSI - Fort Jackson, SC, USF Holland and TMC Training Department.
 
Thomas is survived by the love of his life, wife Mary Jean (Radway) Trombley; his three daughters, Reine Williams (Bruce), and their three children and granddaughter; Lynn LaParr (Terry), and their four children; and Elizabeth Chambers, and her four children and granddaughter. Thomas is also survived by his sister, Bonnie Martin (John); uncle, Thomas "Roger" Tilley (Carolyn); aunt, Glenda Tilley; brother-in-law, Randy Radway (Doreen); sisters-in-law, Taffy Cameron (Lee Chase), and Brenda Radway Sewak; several nieces, nephews and many cousins; special cousin, Karen (Trombley) Burke; special life friends, Sharon Chisholm and Sherri (Brotherton) Robinson; and his beloved dog, Bandit.
 
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Terry Trombley; uncles, Raymond Tilley and Edmond Trombley; and aunts, Barbara Trombley and Arlene Pepper.
 
Thomas will always be remembered for his friendliness and helpfulness to people. He lived the part of "a stranger was just a friend he hadn't met yet" and to always "pay it forward", because you never knew when you would need help.
 
The Trombley family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the tender care and comfort provided.
 
In lieu of flowers, Thomas requested donations in his name to be made to the Warrior's Walk patients of Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC.
 
Per Thomas's wishes there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be held at High Noon on Tuesday, April 13th at Fort Jackson National Cemetery with military honors. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00pm in "Papa's Shop".
