Obituary of Brenda Whitaker Loftis

Brenda Whitaker Loftis, age 74, of 1216 Nazareth Road Lexington, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 at her residence. Brenda was born on January 21, 1947 in Paragould, AK to the late Luther and Monra Dunnam Whitaker. Brenda was a member of South Lexington Baptist Church. Brenda enjoyed singing so much that she and her sister formed a singing Group in the late 1960’s early 1970’s called “The Whitaker Sisters “. Brenda and her sister sang gospel and country songs and often sang before world renowned singing performers such as Dolly Parton, Porter Wagner, Loretta Lynn, Johnny Cash, The Statler Brothers, and Barbara Fairchild.

Brenda , who was a loving person and caretaker, is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Loftis, of the home.

A Memorial service for Brenda will be held on Saturday April 10, 2021 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington.
