Obituary of Lorine Jones Grigsby

Lorine Jones Grigsby, 85, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice Jones of Columbia, SC. Lorine was a member of Laurel Baptist Church. She graduated with honors from Airport High School and completed Farrah’s Beauty School.  She retired from the SC Department of Revenue.  

Lorine is survived by her beloved husband, Frankie M. Grigsby of 69 years; two children Paula Goodman and Jimmy Grigsby (Charlene) both Lexington, SC; a nephew Jerome Clamp (Robin). She was loved by her four grandchildren; Terry Wayne Goodman Jr (Lisa), Traci Goodman both of West Columbia, SC, Lori Hagar (Patrick) of Savannah, GA, and Jenna Grigsby of Lexington, SC; two great- grandchildren, Melody Goodman and Charlie Turner. 

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Frankie Joel Grigsby; one sister, Catherine Morel; one niece, Deborah Ruben; and a step-sister, Betty Newcombe.  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at 11 AM followed by a graveside service at Woodridge Memorial Park.
