Obituary of Julia Cannon Cook

Julia Cannon Cook, 87, of Columbia, SC, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1933 in Donalds, SC to the late Thomas J. and Clara Milford Cannon.

A graduate of Abbeville High School, Julia retired from J.B. White and took great pride in being a top sales leader several years in a row. She was an avid and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, where she sang in the choir for 20 years. She was committed to the church by participating in bible studies, Sunday School, and the Caring Hearts ministries.

Julia was predeceased in death by her husband, William C. Cook; and sister, Louise Cannon Boyce. She is survived by a son, William C. Cook (Suzette); a granddaughter, Madison A. Cook; family, Tiffany Watts (Teddy); and great-grandchildren, Vandy and CJ; a nephew, Jason Boyce; and a niece, Beth Boyce. Julia’s greatest love was being a Mother.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC. A private Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00am at Suncrest Cemetery, 891 Bickett St #6224, Monroe, NC 28112.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Columbia – Church Ministries, 1306 Hampton Street, Columbia, SC 29201.
