Obituary of Gladys Shull Timmons

Gladys Shull Timmons, 94, of West Columbia passed away Friday, February 26, 2021. Mrs. Timmons was a daughter of the late Houston Oliver Shull and Emily Arrien Shull. Mrs. Timmons was born August 1, 1926.

Mrs. Timmons retired after 38 years from the South Carolina Highway Department as a Supervisor of Machine Records. She was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church in West Columbia and the Kate Williams Circle. Gladys was a Charter Member of the Lady Banksia Garden Club and a Life Member of the Garden Club Council of Greater Columbia. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 90 of West Columbia.

She is survived by her sister, Ruth Wilson of Lexington, many nephews and nieces, and many dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Horace E. Timmons, brothers Lonnie H. Shull, Sr., and John Wesley Shull; sisters Bessie Shumpert, Ethel Nordan and Ruby Lown.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, March 3 at 11:30 am at Southland Memorial Gardens. The family asks that all in attendance please wear a mask. Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
