Obituary of James William Russell

James William Russell, 72, of Columbia, SC born Mar. 27, 1948 passed on Jan. 25, 2021. 

James was born in Danville, VA to the late Willie Russell and Evelyn Scearce. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of the heart Edith (Haussler) Fortune, three sisters Gwen (Kirby) Anderson, Shirley (Harry) Boswell, Betty (Ramon) Harmon and one brother Robert Russell. Left to mourn his loss are his children Christy (Mike) McBride of Danville, VA and Joey (Sandy) Russell of Houston, TX, along with his many grand and great grandchildren, family, and friends.

The family requests no flowers be sent and instead donations be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America.

A committal service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 12pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd. Columbia, SC 29229.
