Obituary of Jerry Bryan Arnold, Sr.

Jerry Bryan Arnold Sr. went to be with the Lord February 5, 2021. Jerry was born to the late Sammy V. Arnold Sr. and Carrie Mae Arnold on January 13, 1946 in Lexington, SC. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Rayford Lynn Arnold and Sammy V. Arnold Jr; and his sister Joyce Epps.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Lee Rae Arnold; his sister, Phyllis Tanner; his children, Jerry Bryan Arnold Jr., Andy and Marie Arnold Elrod, and Rebekah Ann Arnold; and his grandchildren, Jessica Arnold, Dillon Elrod, and Zachary Elrod; and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a kind loving and wonderful husband, daddy, granddaddy and brother with a heart full of love for whom he came in contact with. He was a strong man of God and knew he would be entering heavens gate.

Jerry was a member of Joel Baptist Church for five years and Pastored at Hidden Valley Baptist Church for a number of years. Jerry was also very involved with the Disabled Americans Veterans association for many years. Jerry graduated high school and then went on to graduate from seminary college. Not long after that he was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve during the Vietnam War where he served his nation honorably.

Services for Jerry B. Arnold Sr. will be held at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at 1:00pm. A visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Monday, February 15, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm.
