Obituary of Eula Mae Spearman Blakely

Eula Mae Spearman Blakely, 77, of Columbia, SC, was called home by the Lord on January 24, 2021. She was born on November 27,1943 in Liberty, SC and was the daughter of Norman and Mary Spearman. Her life was well-lived and she was well-loved. This kind, caring, and
loving woman has left a permanent mark etched in our hearts. She will be greatly missed by her husband and best friend of 56 years, Samuel S Blakely Sr.

The family was her most important part of her life. She was a proud mother of three: Samuel S Blakely Jr., Jennifer L Blakely, and Michael A Blakely. She was also a mother to her brother’s daughter, Jennifer R Spearman and son, Michael L Spearman. She had a very lasting presence in their lives. She was a member of Suber Marshall United Methodist Church and then a member of Red Bank United Methodist Church, with a long-lasting and strong faith in the Lord, our God Jesus Christ, until her dying day.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Lillie Hamby and Norman William Spearman; brothers: James Lewis Spearman and William Albert Spearman; and sister, Mary Ann Spearman Knotts. She is survived by her husband, Samuel S Blakely Sr.; her three children: Samuel S Blakely Jr. (Michelle), Jennifer L Blakely, and Michael A Blakely (Debra); her sisters: Mildred Harth and Sarah Wheeler; her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She will sadly be missed greatly by all of the above mentioned. She will forever be remembered for
her caring heart, loving embrace, and unconditional love.

Although our hearts are heavy, we will celebrate her life and find comfort in the fact that she is in heaven and is now at peace. All are invited to attend either the visitation on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 6:00-8:00pm or the memorial service at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia,SC 29209.
