Obituary of Jerry Boyd Blume

COLUMBIA - Jerry Boyd Blume, 81, of Columbia SC passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2021. A private graveside service for Mr. Blume’s family will be held on Thursday January 21, 2021, 2:00pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park. A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will occur at a later date. 

Born in Columbia SC, Mr. Blume was the son of the late John Leland Blume and Osee Turnipseed Blume. He was retired from Southern Table and Bedding after 52 years of dedicated service. Jerry was an avid gardener, fisherman and woodworker but his greatest love and enjoyment in life was spending time with his family. 

He is survived by son Stephen B Blume (Barbara) of Barnwell SC; daughter Allison Blume Kenner (Bruce) of Lexington SC; granddaughter Lauren Kenner Miklancic (Ethan) of Boulder CO, grandson Cameron R Kenner of Gilbert SC; sister Helen Blume Stone (Terrell) of Greenville SC; sister Marjorie V Blume of Columbia SC; sister Judy Blume Tuttle of Wilmington NC; brother Eugene M Blume of Columbia SC. He was predeceased by his parents, brother and sister-in-law L.J. “Jay” Blume, (Katherine), sister and brother-in-law Joyce Blume LeClair (Bo), former wife and friend Marie Porter Blume, Nieces and Nephews.
