Lawrence Brazell, Jr.

Obituary of Lawrence Brazell, Jr.

Lawrence Brazell, Jr., 79, resident of Lugoff, husband of Carol Ann Lee Brazell, passed away on January 3, 2021 at William Jennings Bryan Dorn Veteran’s Hospital.

Born February 10, 1941 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Lawrence, Sr. and Lucille Buchanan Brazell. After concluding his education, Lawrence proudly served our Country in the US Army. He worked in a number of industries early in his career, but fell in love with traveling. This led him to a career in the logistics industry as a commercial truck driver, where he worked until his retirement.  He enjoyed several hobbies, but playing guitar in his bluegrass gospel quartet was by far his favorite. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, with his greatest joy being spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife of 58 years, Lawrence leaves behind a daughter, Tammy Lloyd (Robin) of Kingwood, TX; two sons, Larry Brazell (Marianne) of Laurens, SC and Austin Brazell of Lugoff. He is also survived by a grandson, Kyle Lloyd of Lugoff and a number of nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Carol Brazell and one sister, Doris Brazell Terry.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, January 8, 2021 at Old Macedonia Cemetery, 8213 Old Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29223. The family will greet friends following the service.
