Obituary of Lois Watson

Mrs. Lois Watson, 85, of West Columbia, passed peacefully in her sleep January 2, 2021.

She was born January 13, 1935, in Lexington County, a daughter of the late George and Maris Bouknight.

Lois is survived by four daughters and three son-in-laws: Debbie Areheart (Wayne), Gloria Watson, Katie Conley (Bruce) and Joan Tatum (Alan); 8 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Bouknight (Ikuko); one sister, Faye Ergle; one sister-in-law, Frances Bouknight.  She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William ‘Willie’ Watson; two brothers, John and Horace Bouknight; and one sister, Grace Corley.

Lois was a dedicated mother, first and foremost.  She treasured her girls and embraced every moment with them. She especially enjoyed her role as Grandma to her 8 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. She also enjoyed visits, phone calls and doing word searches.

Friends and family are invited to a Graveside Service on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 beginning at 11:00am at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, 3011 Leaphart Road, West Columbia, SC. The family requests that you respectfully follow all protocols for Covid for your safety, as well as theirs.
