Obituary of Luther Rising, Jr.

Luther Rising Jr., 74, of Eastover, SC, passed away December 13, 2020 at Prisma Heart Center in Columbia, SC. He was born on August 24, 1946 in Dillon, SC to Luther Sr. and Mable (Hayes) Rising. 

Luther is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Rising; daughters, Rhonda Poston, Tresa (Rhett) Culley; son, Stephen Rising; and three grandchildren, Kayla, Hayden and Cheyenne. Luther is preceded in death by his brother, Michael Rising.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:30am on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Interment will take place at 12:00pm, also on Thursday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC, where military honors will be performed.
