Obituary of Chester Dean Walton

Chester “Chet” Dean Walton, age 60, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away November 18,2020. He was born June 30, 1960 in Doylestown, PA to Charles Sr and Lillian Walton. In 1985 Chet married Joan Orsburn and together had four children, Robert, Jennifer, Rachel, and Rebecca Walton.They have been together for almost 36 years. His lifetime accomplishments included: being the youngest Eagle Scout in Texas and creating multiple successful businesses. His love of cars was the driving force to own and operate automotive repair shops. Chet was very generous and willing to help others in need, never expecting recognition. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family, especially with his daughters. Chet will be missed and will always be remembered through his businesses and his family. Chet is survived by his loving wife, Joan Colleen Walton, and his 3 daughters, Jennifer Danielle, Rachel Nicole, and Rebecca Colleen Walton. His immediate family also includes his father, Charles Dale Walton Sr., his mother Lillian Queen Walton, and his two brothers Charles Dale Walton, Jr., and Carl David Walton. Chet was preceded in death by his only son, Robert Charles Walton and his older sister, Christina Laise Walton Hull. The family will receive friends and family at Thompson Funeral Home, located on Leesburg Road, on Saturday, November 21 from 3-5pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located on Fort Jackson Boulevard, on Monday November 23 at 11:00am.
