I am so sorry to read that Harry has passed away. He was a friend to all of us in the Olympia Class of '61. He will be missed at our next reunion.

After a tour in the US Navy, I moved to Columbia in the fall of 1966 to start college. I had a job lined up before moving. It was part-time after class at Furniture World on Two Notch Rd. The first day I reported Harry Laval greeted me at the front door. He was a full time salesman there. I knew immediately that Harry was a people person and I liked him. He welcomed me like we had known each other for years; not minutes. We became instant friends. He & Judy welcomed me into their home on many many occasions. He tried to teach me to play golf. (Some of our outings can't be printed but we had a lot of fun.) It hurts my heart to think of the years that have gone by since I last spoke to him or Judy. Our lives had taken us in different directions. If thoughts count it hasn't been that long. Sorry to say they don't. He called me the last time we spoke to tell me I should get in touch with a mutual friend that I hadn't spoken to in some time. That was Harry. Harry was a good man. God blessed me by introducing me to Harry.
