Obituary of Dolores Ann Jones Lambert

Dolores Ann Jones Lambert, 76, of Gaston, widow of Alfred Lee Lambert, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2020 at her residence.

Born August 11, 1944 at the Langley Army Air Base in Hampton, VA, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Lee and Dessie Magdalene Mozingo Jones. Dolores spent more than twenty-five years nurturing children in the public school system. Following her retirement she committed much of her time enjoying her hobbies of reading, doing cross stich, knitting and making custom jewelry. She was remembered by her family as a wonderful cook and would spend hours making homemade spaghetti that they said was their favorite meal. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who instilled the love of family to everyone she met. She was a wonderful Christian lady and was a faithful Catholic who used her talents of sewing to make vestments and stoles for the priests of the church.

Dolores is survived by a daughter, Kristi Lambert of Gaston; a son, Scott Lambert (Christina) of Moseley, VA; four grandchildren, Katy Hufham of Gaston, Shawn Lambert (Alysha) of Gaston, Leslie Lambert and Marissa Lambert both of Moseley, VA; great grandchildren, Jacob, Emma, Addy, Shawn, Thea and Kodi; a brother, Butch Jones (Sally) of Richmond, VA; special friends, Monica Taylor of Lexington, Christian Grasshoff of Nordhausen, Germany and Mohsin Zamir of Karachi, Pakistan. She is also survived by many extended family members and loving friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dolores was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Michael “Mike” Lambert.

A memorial service will be held a future date.

The family suggests that those wishing to make memorials may do so to the American Diabetes Association.
