Obituary of Stephen Morris Scutt

Stephen Morris Scutt, 65, of Lexington, husband of Candi Ann Greenfield Scutt, passed away on October 17, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center.

Born July 2, 1955 in the Territory of Hawaii, he was the son of Morris V. “Bud” Scutt and the late Cledah Mae O’Bryant Scutt. Steve was on the varsity Football team in high school in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then attended Olivette University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.

Steve began his career as the main designer for the collection of Avon decorative bottles for colognes and perfumes. During his career as a project manager/architect he designed over 100 churches all over the North East. He worked in Ohio, New York, Chicago and South Carolina .He also enjoyed designing and building houses on Lake Murray. He has worked with Craig Otto Architects, Inc of Lexington for over 15 years. Steve's hobbies included Harley Davidson motorcycles, jeeps and working out at the gym. Steve has always been an athlete. He contributed his length of life to the dedication of working out at the gym. He played hard and worked hard.  The way he lived his life was evident that he deeply loved his wife and family. Steve was a faithful lifetime member of the Church of the Nazarene.

In addition to his wife and father, Stephen is survived by a son, Dalton Scutt (Katelyn) of Lexington; three daughters, Stephanie Vantell (Vince) of Tennessee, Kristan Largent (Mark) of Oklahoma and Aubri Scutt of Ohio; nine grandchildren, McKenna, Jaxon, Kylee, Jacob, Titus, Jayce, Micah, Konnor and Kaleb; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diana Asbury and a brother, Scot Scutt.

A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 PM, Saturday, October 24th at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the Rev. Dan Rummel officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the hour of service.
