Obituary of Stephen Albert Preston Medlin

Stephen Albert Preston Medlin, age 14, of Wagner, SC, loving son of Steven Mikell Medlin and Amanda Marie Preston Medlin, entered into rest on Monday, August 3, 2020.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Donald Ray Preston, Essie Mae Patterson and Russell Desmond Osbourne; brothers Austin Preston, Bentley Langford, Chad Nettles, Colten Wright, Burton Chavis and TJ.Swartzentruber; sisters Crystal Gladden, Teressia Gladden, Haylie Gladden and Jennie Wright; aunts and uncles Mr. Daniel E. and Katherine R. Mcvey, Mr. Kenneth R. and Jenny Meadows, Ms. Wanda F. Bryant, Mr. Larry E. Medlin Jr, Ms. Tracy Leigh Freeman, Mr. DJ. and Kristy Hunter, Mr. Johnny Ray, Ronnie Gladden, Crystal Preston and Ronda (Randy) Rabon; best friends Kaliee Nettles and Josh Quick, and several cousins and many friends. Stephen was preceded in death by grandparents Joseph A. Patterson and Debbie Lynn Baughman Preston and uncle Mr. David Bryant.

Stephen loved the Lord and was excited when he was baptized three weeks ago by Reverend Henry Cooper. Stephen was born at Lexington Hospital in Lexington, SC and lived in Wagner SC until the family moved to the Lower Richland community.  He had just finish the eighth grade and was excited about starting high school.  Stephen loved playing video games and spending time at the arcade.  He liked reading and spending time with his cousins.  One cousin he would call Aunt Quest, as he loved to pick on her.  Stephen had many family and friends that he liked to be around. His favorite color was red and he loved Pokémon, eating tuna salad right out the bowl and loved ice cream of all kinds.  Stephen had a beautiful smile and was a bright, smart and overall great child who loved life to the fullest. We are going to miss him dearly, but he is and will always be in our thoughts, our prayers and most of all our hearts! We love you Stephen!

Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park is assisting the family.  A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 17, 2020, at the gazebo at Woodridge Memorial Park, 138 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
