Obituary of Bernice Alice Martin Cline

A celebration service for Bernice Alice Martin Cline, 86, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn, 845 Leesburg Rd, Columbia with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Tony Martin, nephew, will officiate. The family will receive family and friends one half hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.

She left this world on Thursday, August 6, 2020, in the Agape Hospice Home of Lexington. Born in Kershaw County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Dexter Martin and Alice Jordan Martin. She worked for many years with the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Columbia and many other jobs in Columbia as well. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her children growing up.  She truly loved her family and friends, and always wanted to be around them. Family was very important to her.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis Cline (Trish) of Lexington, William “Bill” Cline of Columbia, daughter, Barbara Johnson (Gary) of Lexington; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her husband William C. Cline preceded Ms. Cline in death. They were together in marriage for more than 61 years. Also preceding in death were sisters, Rosie Mae Pittman, of Rock Hill and Betty Jo Crocker of Georgia. Brothers, Alfred Martin and Ivey Martin of Columbia, Lee Martin of Rock Hill, and Jack Martin and Alva Martin of Fort Mill.
