Obituary of Heather Nicholas Mandanis

Heather Nicholas Mandanis, 58, passed away from multiple chronic medical conditions, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, in Chapin, South Carolina where she had been a resident at The Heritage at Lowman Home. Born on August 30, 1961, she is predeceased by her father, Dr. Nicholas Peter Mandanis, and her mother Mary Nickas Mandanis.  She is survived by her only sibling, Dr. Perry N Mandanis.  She is also survived by her aunt, Mary Nickas her beloved first cousins and her godson Evan M Hobbs.

She was a graduate of Hammond School and Columbia College and worked at the Registrar’s office at the University of South Carolina. She was a devoted member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Columbia, SC and was an active member of the Church Choir, St. Katherine’s Philoptochos Society and the Daughters of Penelope. She was cochairman for several years of the Grocery store at the Columbia Greek Festival. 

She was an avid Gamecock fan and never missed watching a USC sporting event. Her family and friends knew her for her infectious smile that will be missed by all.

A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6th at 11:00 am at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her name to: Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1931 Sumter Street, Columbia, SC  29201 and The Heritage at Lowman, 2101 Dutch Fork Road, Chapin, SC  29036.
