Obituary of Mary Kay Chavis

Mary Kay Chavis, 67, of Cayce, SC, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Lexington Medical Center. Kay was born on April 14, 1953 to Gordan Worth Bullard (and the late Harvey Brazell).  Kay married Grantt David Lee Evans and had two children, Jeremy Lane Evans and Travis Lee Evans. After a tragic car accident Kay was widowed, after which she remarried Michael Chavis and became step mom to Michah Pace and Tristan Chavis.

Kay worked many places. She was a Real Estate Agent and later went on to Blue Cross Blue Shield, where she retired. Kay was a loving wife, mother, Grandmother, and friend to all she knew. Kay is survived by her husband Michael Chavis of Cayce; her son, Travis Evans (Samantha); Grandchildren: Zachary Evans, Zachary Tuten, Johnathan Tuten, Kinsley Evans, Kaylynn Evans, Grayson Pace, Zachary Pace, Isabella Chavis; stepdaughter Michah Pace (Chris). She is also survived by her sister, Betty Wagner (Mike), brother, Chuck Brazell (Annette) and a half brother, Victor Bullard.

Kay also had many nieces and nephews: Hannah Williams (Chris) and their children Grace, Nathanael and Faith; Adam Curado (Casey) and their children Suzannah and Audrey; Rachel Corder (Gene) and their children Sabrina and Brianna; Paul Curado (Faye) and their children Anna, Alexis and Michael; Elizabeth (Clay) and her children Claire and Remington.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 10:00 AM in Lybrand Cemetery, Delree Street, West Columbia, SC, with Joey Curado officiating.
