Obituary of Katherine Lynn Thompson

Katherine Lynn “Kaitlynn” Thompson, 24, of Hopkins, SC passed away on June 27, 2020.  Surviving are her parents: Joey and Tiffany Thompson and Crystal and Luke Wilson of Hopkins, SC, siblings: Danielle Jeffcoat (Justin), Meagan Crawford (Carl), Nicole Collins, Andrew Collins (Brianna), and grandparents; Elizabeth “Betty” Thompson, Katherine Gonsalez, and Joseph and Mary Szoke. She was predeceased by her grandfathers’ Joseph Thompson Sr. and Joseph H. Gonsalez, and her Aunts’ Katie Thompson and Donna Szoke. 

Kaitlynn was born on December 10, 1995 at Lexington Medical Center. She was a 2014 graduate of Dreher High School in Columbia, SC and attended Midlands Technical College.  She was raised most of her life in Hopkins, SC and she always considered herself a “country” girl.  She was given the nickname of TROUBLE by her Daddy at an early age, and if you had the pleasure of knowing her, knew that the name was always said with a smile on his face. Kaitlynn loved spending time with her family and friends, going to the beach, and laughing. She had a bubbly personality, a great sense of humor, and a BIG heart. 

Kaitlynn will be laid to rest on Monday July 6, 2020 at 11am at St John’s Episcopal Church, 1151 Elm Savannah Rd, Hopkins,SC, followed by visitation with the family at their residence.  The family requests that in-lieu of flowers, donations be made to St John’s Episcopal Church in her name.
