Obituary of Wallace Murray "Red" Williams

Wallace Murray “Red” Williams, 82, of Hopkins, SC was “a man of few words.” He was born on December 18, 1937 to the late Marvin and Lorena Williams and passed away on June 24, 2020 from pneumonia.

Wallace was a graduate of Lower Richland High School and received his B.S. Degree in Psychology from USC. Wallace was a former magistrate in Gadsden, SC. He ran Williams Grocery in Gadsden and was a well driller and farmer. He was a veteran of the Berlin Crisis serving in the South Carolina Air National Guard. Wallace was a member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church in Hopkins, SC.

He is survived by his brothers, Harold and Jim Williams; children, Buck Williams, Brenda Branham, and Jimmy Williams; aunt, Pansy Heyward; grandkids, Gene Williams, Cissy Branham, David Branham, Tina Dailey, Gina Tyler, Joni Williamson, Michelle Hoots and Maggie Williams and numerous great-great grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria; a brother, Douglas Williams, and a great grandson, Erik Pate.
