Obituary of Roland Harper Brehmer, Jr.

COLUMBIA - Roland Harper (Jack) Brehmer, Jr, passed away on June 9, 2020. He was born on July 2, 1923 in Lynchburg, VA, grew up in Columbia, SC and attended Clemson Military College. Jack served in World War II as a Navy Corpman in the Pacific and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific, the Two Stars Philippine Liberation and the American Victory World War II medals.  

Jack was predeceased by his wife, Dell Gunnells Brehmer and his son-in-law, Lewis Wayne Pearson. He is survived by his four daughters: Patricia Brehmer Pearson, Joanne Brehmer Hydrick, Jacquelyn Stacy Tilley (Maurice) and Deana Allison Brehmer. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Lewis Wayne Pearson, Junior (Carrie), Patrick Carter Pearson (Molly), Thomas Emanuel Hydrick, III (Catherine Woods), Catherine Lee Patro (Devin), Shelby Jacquelyn Tilley and Alexander Matthew Tilley. Four great-grandchildren also survive Jack.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 10am until 11am at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Burial will be private.  

Memorials may be made to the E. Roy Stone Pavilion, C. M. Tucker, Junior Veterans Home, 2200 Harden Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29203.
