Obituary of Gwendolyn Elaine Futrell

GASTON - Gwendolyn Elaine “Gwen” Futrell, 62, of Gaston, wife of Stewart Wayne Futrell, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2020 at her residence.

Born January 16, 1958 in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas and Sherry Roland Manley. When Gwen married, she spent her time as a homemaker and caring for their children. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who instilled the love of family to everyone she met. Gwen also loved animals, especially her three German Shepherds, Shadow, Rico and Casper, and one cat, Squig, all of which brought joy to her life. She was a wonderful Christian lady who loved reading and listening to her audio Bible, and was of the Catholic Faith.

In addition to her husband of 25 years, Gwen is survived by a daughter, Chrissy LaShawn Frasco (Aaron) of Enterprise, Alabama; two grandchildren, Carolana Frasco and Kaylee Frasco; one sister, Gay Manley of Gaston, and one brother, Tommy Manley, Jr. of West Columbia. She is also survived by many extended family members and loving friends.

In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by a son, Bennie Ray Gunter.

Due to current COVID-19 circumstances, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
