To the family of Mr. Woodrow Adams... you have my deepest and sincere condolences in your loss.
I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Adams. I am so happy that I was able to speak with him by phone a few days after Christmas.
As a teen and young man, I was always inspired by Mr. Adams, and he was an influence in my decision to ultimately enlist into military service. Whenever I came home to Columbia on leave, I always looked forward to seeing and talking to Mr. Adams at church.
Through the years and even after my retirement from the service, I always enjoyed our insightful conversations, whether it was about war, politics, or our shared interest in nice automobiles and fine Rolex timepieces.
Farewell Master Sergeant (Ret.) Adams. Thank you for serving our country. Thank you for being an inspiration to me. It was an honor and a privilege to have known you.
