Obituary of Micheline Richard

Micheline Marie Richard “MiMi”, 79, of West Columbia was awarded her heavenly wings February 23, 2020, while at home with her family.

She was born to the late Voluska and Irma Souriac, November 19, 1940, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Micheline assumed the role as caregiver all her life; she retired from the profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1996. Micheline loved sewing, cooking, music, dancing, and her family. She enjoyed meeting people, new people and those who met her could not deny her luminous smile and personality. Micheline moved from Haiti to Philadelphia to California, and then to South Carolina; where she lived with her family for 26 years.

Micheline is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hebbe Richard, Sr.; her 4 sons, Jimmy Souriac, Mario Richard, Bobby Richard and Gregory Richard; and one daughter, Rachelle Richard. She is also survived by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.  Micheline leaves many Grand and Great Grand-children and other family and friends that will miss her dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2020 at Thompson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with visitation from 1-2pm prior to the service.
