Martin Eubanks

Obituary of Martin Eubanks

Martin L. Eubanks, age 59, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 18th , 2020. Martin, is the son of Johnny and Frances Eubanks. He was raised in Thomasville, Georgia then graduated from UGA. Martin relocated to Lexington, South Carolina where he raised his family and enjoyed a fulfilling career.

Martin is survived by his wife Karen, his three children Claire Carpentier (Phil), Kelly Howell (Nick), and John Martin (Katie), as well as three grandchildren Mollie, Paul, and Leah. Martin is also survived by his parents, brothers and many other family members.  He was predeceased by his first wife Debbie.

Throughout his 33 year career with the SC Department of Agriculture, Martin made a lasting impact in the Agricultural Industry. He took great pride in his job, and it brought him great joy to work closely with farmers and many others in the Agricultural Industry. Many of which became life-long friends and considered “family.”  Martin said “Old school is still the best route to go, to where you go to someone’s office, meet them and shake their hands so they know who you are. Building that personal relationship carries one farther than anything out there.”

Despite enjoying his work, his second career as a retired man was far more enjoyable for him. Martin enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending his time in the great outdoors.

Martin’s family was the light of his life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren watching them play and grow, and he took great pride in loving and embarrassing his children and his wife. Martin had a sense of humor that was contagious and always had a story to tell that would light up a room. Martin loved the Lord and took pleasure in sharing his testimony with the world. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church, Lexington SC, and loved spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through various mission opportunities.  He is a shining example of the type of person we all strive to be. He will leave a lasting impact on all who knew him. Martin’s passion was putting a smile people’s faces and making a difference to someone else.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Northside Baptist Church, 4347 Sunset Blvd, Lexington, SC 29072 to help support the many missions and activities Martin was passionate about.
