Obituary of Joseph Edward Wojcicki

Joseph E. Wojcicki – WEST COLUMBIA, SC passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019.  Joe was born on July 25, 1936 in Vilnius, part of Poland at the time.  He was the son of Kazimierz and Konstancja Wojcicki.  He was retired having worked as a professor at Aiken Technical College.

Joe was an animated and passionate teacher having earned his students' votes to be placed in America's top 2% of educators, a decorated engineer in Poland having commissioned large projects, and an advocate for justice.  He had a zest for life and presence that would fill the room.  Yet, he made you feel like you were the only one that mattered, and left a positive mark on everyone he met. 

Joe is survived by wife of 40 years, Halina Wojcicki of West Columbia, SC, daughter, Anna Gleissner of Statesboro, GA, son, Arthur Wojcicki of Melbourne, Australia, brother, Janusz Wojcicki of Linkoping, Sweden, and seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The family will hold a memorial service at Thompson Funeral Home (200 State St, West Columbia, SC 29169) on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 5pm to 6pm with time directly afterwards to share memories and fried chicken.
