Obituary of Vashti "Betty" Faulkner Costello

Vashti “Betty” Faulkner Costello began her walk with Jesus peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the age of 92. Vashti was born on May 31, 1927 in Charleston SC to the late C.C Faulkner and Henrietta Latorre.  She was a successful real estate broker, being the second female real estate broker in South Carolina.

She is survived by her children, J. E. “Chip” Costello, Cheryl (Sammy) Dunlap, and Suzy Costello; a sister, Naomi Mazzell; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Costello; one brother, C.C. "Buddy" Faulkner Jr.

A graveside service will be held at Southland Memorial Gardens located at 700 W Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170 on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:00 PM.
