Obituary of Frank "Willis" Furtick

Frank "Willis" Furtick,  85, of Lexington, South Carolina  passed away November 15, 2019  at Lexington Medical Center,  He was born on March 16, 1934  in Swansea, South Carolina  to the late Berbon  and Ora Furtick .

Willis was a family man and he adored his wife of 64 years, their two sons and his three granddaughters.   He was loving, caring and compassionate for others.   He would give anyone the shirt off his back.  Willis was faithfully employed by the state of SC for 40 years.  He loved serving his country as a Command Sergeant Major for the US Army National Guard for 40 years.   Willis proudly served in Dessert Storm.   He found great joy in his garden and loved cutting his grass.  Willis loved the outdoors.  More than anything, he loved his family and his best friend Kirt.  Willis was a die-hard USC Gamecock.   He loved his sports!

Frank  is survived by the love of his life of 64 years Shelby Joan Furtick, his sons Timothy Furtick, William Furtick, his grandchildren, Nikki (James) Hamlin, Jessica (Slate) Alligood, Ginger Furtick, his great-grandchildren, Nathan Furtick, Natalie Furtick, Jayme Furtick, Richard Furtick, Kerrigan Hamlin, and Kourtlynn Hamlin.  He is also survived by his brother Furman (Connie) Furtick.  

He was preceded in death by his brother Oneal Furtick, and the one women he loved more than his sweet wife was his mother-in-law Mildred Roberts, also his father-in-law Bill Roberts.

The family will receive friends at  Thompson Funeral Home of West Columbia, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169  on Monday, November 18, 2019  from 11:00AM  -  12:00PM.    Funeral services will follow  at 12:00PM.   Pastor Ryals will be officiating.    Interment will be at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.
